Tokidoki for LeSportSac Bag Collection

In 2006, when Tokidoki collaborated with LeSportSac for a project called Tokidoki for LeSportSac, everyone was sure that it would be a spectacle. Not only does the LeSportSac bag collection give such a functional yet fashionable products but with Tokidoki, it gives customers a new and playful world. Indeed, this is what Tokidoki has been popular for, its chic, sexy yet sophisticated look. You can even choose from many different designs. Most designs that you will see are Tokidoki's signature characters which are The Cactus Friends, Milk Carton, Tulip, the Moofia and Adios and CiaoCiao. You will often see a dark eyed Japanese girl with bright hair colors and tattooed sleeves with these cuddling characters. And these are what Tokidoki fans love.

The LeSportSac line of handbags are sold with a Qee, which is a toy collaboration with Toy2R that has an inside carabiners on a stretch cord and a ball chain.

In Spring 2006, the first print was introduced. This was also said to be "The Original Print" featuring Sandy and her Cactus Friends, also with the Moofia minions. Inside the bag, you will see a "The Original Print" lining with blue and green hardware. The most expensive bag in the line is retailed at $198 which is the Luna duffle bag while the cheapest in the line is priced at $56 and is the Carmelline make-up bag. With the bags, you can choose from three different Qees, Dalek, the pink dog, Meomi, the blue cat or Tokidoki, the white bear. However, the Dalek and Meomi qees are not available in other seasons.

By Summer 2006, the collaboration has decided to produce three new fresh prints. These prints feature the Tokidoki girls and they are called, Playground, Camo Playground Olive and Camo Playground Black. The bags hardware are brushed in gold while the inside has an orange lining. However, some of the bag models were discontinued after the season, these bags are the Caramelline, Agioletto priced at $62, Cangurino priced at $78, Mamma priced at $96, Bella Bella priced at $148 and Andiamo priced at $164.

In Fall 2006, LeSportSac and Tokidoki made five new prints, these are Citta Rosa, Foresta, Citta, Arancia and Fumo. Citta Rosa and Citta has a brushed silver hardware with pink linings inside the bag, Foresta has a brushed gold hardware with orange linings inside, Arancia has a brushed gold hardware with orange lining and Foresta prints inside the bag while Fuma has a brushed silver hardware, gray linings and a Citta print inside the bag. LeSportSac has also added some new styles to the collection which are the Braccialetto priced at $42, Bocce priced at $88, Nuvola And Corriere both priced at $184, Cucciolo priced at $198 and Trenino priced at $298. It was also this time that prices of the bags were increased as compared to the last season.

The Winter of 2006 features three new prints, which were all made with brushed silver hardware. The prints are Notte, Paradiso and Inferno. The Notte is black with Citta prints inside, The Paradiso shows heaven with yellow linings inside the bag, and the Inferno shows hell with red linings inside.

In the year 2007, Tokidoki for LeSportSac was sure to make a splash for its avid customers. In Spring 2007, the collection started out with three prints with brushed gold hardware. They were called Pirata, Adios Star and Bianco. The Pirate has an ocean pirate scene with a turquoise inside. The Adios Star shows the signature Adios star with random tokidoki characters and Bianco was in white with Adios Star print inside. But the Spring collection does not stop here, another print was made and this was the L'Amore that showed tokidoki characters that were in love with hearts. It is hot pink inside and is brushed with gold hardware.

By the Summer of 2007, another three prints was made and all these had brushed gold hardware. In line with the summer scene, they made Spiaggia, Fumo solid and Notte solid re-releases. The Spiaggia shows a beach scene and is yellow inside. In the late summer, the Famiglia print was introduced and it shows various tokidoki characters in circles. It is orange inside and has brushed gold hardware.

For the Fall of 2007, two prints were made with a new Adios key chain and brushed silver hardware. The models were Tutti and Trasporto. Tutti designs shows most of the tokidoki characters that were drew in black and white while Transporto shows the tokidoki characters travelling on a light gray background.

For almost two years of the unparalleled products that Tokidoki for LeSportSac has given, it makes it final Tokidoki for LeSportSac print on Winter of 2007. The print is called Vacanze and it shows a winter holiday scene with Christmas trees, gingerbread houses, skiers, penguins, eskimos and tokidoki carolers. An Adios key chain is included. It has gray linings inside and has a brushed silver hardware.

The Tokidoki for LeSportSac line is very popular because of its rare prints. Bags are even said to reach bids of three to four times as much as the retail price on Internet auction stores like eBay. This caused many counterfeit copies of the bag but LeSportSac has decided to re-release some prints late 2007 like the Foresta. But it will include the Adios qee and no longer the Tokidoki white bear qee.

Well, do not worry since this is not the end of the Tokidoki designs in bags. You may want to watch out for the Summer of 2008 where LeSportSac will be manufacturing Tokidoki designed bags but it will no longer bear the LeSportSac logo but the Tokidoki name. The line is said to be distributed by August 2008 and the first design will be called Carnival featuring a carnival and circus theme. The second print will be released by September and is called Eco Mondo. This has a "save the planet" theme. The last print will be released on October and is called Concerto Punk which features the Tokidoki characters rocking out in a punk rock concert. Black prints with characters such as nana star, adios star and fantasmino will be seen inside the bag. Also, the Adios Qees key chain are newly designed. It is said that there will be eight styles that almost resembles the Tokidoki for LeSportSac bag collection. However, fans should expect that they will be paying more for these new bags to come.
